Dr. Ferreira began her path in healthcare as a medical assistant and surgical assistant at Lovelace Hospital in 2000, while also earning her undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico, focusing on Biology and Chemistry. After attaining her undergraduate degree, she spent time in research at UNM and the VA Hospital, but realized that direct patient care was her true passion.
This time outside of patient care, and her passion for true biology and the Quantum Physics of the human body, is what initially brought her to study Chinese Medicine. She obtained her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Albuquerque, NM, where she also managed the Herbal Pharmacy at the Student Intern/Residency clinic. Dr. Ferreira is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, a Nationally Certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, and also has begun studying and using Cranio Sacral therapy within her acupuncture practice.
Dr. Ferreira opened her first clinic, south of Albuquerque, to bring alternative healthcare to patients in the underserved area of Valencia County. She now also has a clinic in the North East Heights of Albuquerque, where she has called home since 1992.
